Emma Lindsay: Extinction Project opens as part of ‘On a Wing’ program @ World Science Festival Brisbane 2016, Queensland Museum 10-13 March.

The Extinction Project is now up! Come and see over 4 years of practice-led PhD research into my extinction flock of 29 extinct Australian bird specimens (full species and sub species) sourced from global natural history museum archives. All together under the one roof for the first time at the ‪#‎Queenslandmuseum‬ ‪#‎Onawing‬ ‪#‎Streetscience‬‪ #‎WorldScienceFestivalBrisbane‬ 2016.

Artist talks will take place daily in the QM Foyer at 11am and 1:30pm from Thursday 10- Sunday 13 March. All welcome.

NB: Please note, the painted specimen ‘proxies’ have been made as a complete ‘Extinction flock’ and are not for individual sale. This research project was undertaken in order to create a complete to-scale public record of our Australian bird extinct full and sub species specimens.

Enquiries from institutions interested in acquiring this project are welcome. Please go to contact page for email information.
