Pleased to announce the ’22 extinct birds’ installation made at Point B in NYC Oct/Nov 2014, will be exhibited at Heiser Gallery, Brisbane in my Hunter/hunted show this October 2015.
These works were shown as part of a one-on-one NYC pop-up subway project during my Point B residency, with strangers and artists met over the two months while travelling around the city, and also as a wall installation at the Point B November Edition, Williamsburg NYC, November 2014. These individual portraits of globally extinct birds species are part of my ongoing practice-led research Extinction Project (2012-). The project acts to bear witness to the extinction of individual global bird and animal species and my encounters with them in the landscape of the natural history museum archive.
