May News: Exhibition ‘Bimblebox -Art -Science- Nature’

Two new works of mine, based on 15 endangered black-throated finches recently sighted on the Bimblebox Nature Refuge, are part of a new group exhibition ‘Bimblebox Art-Science-Nature’, curated by Beth Jackson for the Bimblebox Art Project.

Opening night Friday 16 May, 6pm at Redland Art Gallery, Cleveland, Brisbane – all welcome.

This project is a two year labour of love by all the people involved, and is in support of the Bimblebox Nature Refuge, currently under threat of destruction from proposed Galilee Basin mining projects. The show has just received Australia Council funding to tour Australia for the next two years, starting with the Redland Art Gallery 18 May-29 June, 2014.

I’m also one of the artists on the panel/floor talk being held 12 noon Sunday 18 May. Look forward to seeing you there.
